Why cheap is not always cheerful in the firework world
We all have a budget when it comes to buying fireworks, but opting for the cheapest can sometimes leave you disappointed and can often prove to be a false economy. Here are a few reasons why cheap fireworks are not always cheerful:
1. They may not be safe. However much you spend on your fireworks, make sure the fireworks used are marked with the proper safety number BS 7114 or with a CE mark. These marks indicate that the firework meets the required safety standards for Britain or Europe.
2. They can be very smelly and smoky. Nothing can ruin a fireworks display quicker than a field full of smoke. Unfortunately, this can happen with cheaper, lower quality fireworks and it can be very unpleasant, especially if there are young children around.
3. Poor results. With fireworks, you tend to get what you pay for. If you haven’t paid very much, you might not get the impressive results or the display you were after.
4. Misfiring fireworks. Cheap fireworks can often misfire or fail to fire at all – which can be dangerous and can also ruin a display, as well as making any money you’ve spent on them a complete waste.
5. Lack of choice. There tends to only be a few options available with cheap fireworks, especially when it comes to colour. If you want something a bit special, you’re better off spending a little more to get a wider variety of colours and a better quality product.
