Planning to light up your wedding with fireworks? Here are a few things to consider
A fireworks display can be the perfect way to end the biggest day of your life – your wedding. Just imagine your friends and family gathered round, a glass of champagne in your hand and the sky bursting with lights and colours just for the two of you – there’s no better way to celebrate and make the occasion truly special.
If you’d like fireworks at your wedding and want everything to go off without a hitch, here are a few things you need to bear in mind:
Always use a fireworks specialist – even if a family member has said that they will do the fireworks, always go for a professional fireworks display. This is because quite a few alcoholic drinks are likely to have been consumed by the time you’re ready for the fireworks, and slightly tiddly relatives and explosive fireworks definitely don’t mix. If you want everything to go smoothly, hire a professional.
Does the venue allow fireworks? Some wedding venues won’t allow fireworks because of noise, environmental issues or permit issues, so make sure you find out the situation well in advance of the big day.
How much of the budget can you put towards your display? The amount your display will cost depends on the duration of the display and whether you have any special requests (i.e. favourite colours, unusual or bespoke fireworks). It’s all about finding a balance between a great display and not blowing the whole wedding budget.
