Lighting Up The Sky in Hannover

Hannover in Germany might not be the first place you think of to take that weekend break or well earned holiday, but that’s probably because you weren’t aware that it’s home to one of the most prestigious firework competitions in the world.



Firework display designers around the world are getting themselves ready to light up the sky over Germany in the Hannover International Fireworks Competition 2014…and that includes us!

This year 1st Galaxy Fireworks will be flying the flag for the England and competing against some of the best in the world…and hoping to win!

The competition takes place in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, Hannover, and it will see five teams from around the world compete over several months.

Here are the dates:

May 17th – Czech Republic – Flash Barrandov
May 31st – England – 1st Galaxy Fireworks 
August 23rd – Switzerland – Sugyp SA
September 6th – Japan – Marutamaya Co.
September 20th - Greece – Nanos Fireworks
