At the end of 2007 we began implimenting the new BPA Fireworks Training Course which was a large improvement on the previous course and syllabus. The new course contains all that was in the old but also has a lot more, the biggest difference for the student is the quality of the reference material. Fireworks
The new 300 + page book covers everything in both level one & level two, interestingly is plastered in pictures from front to back which help to show the information provided in a more visual way. The whole approach to the book is really quite scientific, and whilst there have been some critisisms of its american roots, all in all its makes a fascinatng read and will help tremendously when studying the effects of fireworks, how they work, how they go wrong and much much more. Fireworks Displays
Now for anyone starting out in Fireworks training its a must that they purchase one of these books, they are in fact the bible of the fireworks display operator and are a much need study book just before thinking about your exams.
The courses them selves, of which there are two, one for each level both consist of a day or more in the class room. Included in the day are 600 slides, thats spead over both courses...and as you can see from the number of slides there is a mass of information to apsorb. Fireworks Event Planner
The slides are coupled with a great speaker and lots of reference to real fireworks and in depth explanations and discussion points.
Also crucial to yout education is some practical experience, its actually in the rule book that in order to sit L 1 exam you have to have had at least 3 days on site..or three displays and then a further 12 (thats fifteen in total) in order to sit L2.
We in fact insist on more than this for our own training scheme...
